Project Management Course

Virtual Delivery

2021 Session CANCELLED

Introduction and Background

“Helped me understand how to better apply project management tools and techniques in my own group.” - Quentin Hauta, Cameco

Learn how to plan and execute organizational projects on time and on budget.

A project is any unique undertaking which requires a special organization and has stated objectives in terms of scope, time and cost. The Project Management Course takes a comprehensive view of "the total project," from the planning and organizational stages to the actual implementation stage with special emphasis placed on control and continuous improvement.

Course coverage will include project management systems and will also explore the often neglected human side of Project Management and employee motivation. This is an ideal overview for anyone directly or indirectly involved in project development.

Course Structure

All participant materials will be provided through Canvas. Program learning will be delivered virtually through Zoom.

The Project Management Course virtual classroom training restructures the traditional three-day in-class program with both live instructor-led virtual components and pre-recorded videos that will be viewed by participants at strategic points before and during the virtual instructor-led components.

Limited homework will be required for pre-recorded video viewing, and work required on participant’s own projects. The restructuring allows the instructor-led sessions to concentrate on more challenging concepts, as well as discussions, polls, breakout groups, and application of key learning concepts.

In order to use Zoom, participants are required to have access to a computer/laptop with sound capabilities (speakers and microphone) and a built-in camera or webcam. Participants can also join the webinar by phone. All phone numbers and access IDs will be provided. Participants should also have access to a quiet and private space for learning.
