Biography

Dr. Amarjit Gill has been teaching full-time for the last 14 years at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of corporate finance, risk and insurance, entrepreneurial finance, security analysis and investments, personal finance and entrepreneurship. He has served on dissertation committees in the areas of finance and management for the last 12 years. He has reviewed research papers for the finance and management journals for the last eight years. 

Dr. Gill has published 32 papers in high quality peer-reviewed and ranked journals including International Journal of Managerial Finance (Emerald Publishing); Managerial Finance Journal (Emerald Publishing); and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management (Emerald Publishing). His research papers have been cited over 1,900 times. He has presented at many conferences and received the Best Research Paper award at the 11th Asian Business Research Conference, 26-27 December, 2014. His research study in finance focused on capital structure, working capital management, venture capital, new venture financing, investors’ investment behavior, financial policy of the firm, risk and insurance, personal finance and firm performance.

Dr. Gill worked as a manager in the Canadian financial management and service sectors for over 20 years. He has provided consulting services in the areas of financial management and small business development for the last 15 years.
