Biography

Dr. Walsworth joined the Edwards School of Business as an Associate Professor (tenure-track) in July 2007. Before this he completed a Ph.D. in Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the University of Toronto. In 2011 he was named the Principal Investigator on a prestigious three year Standard Research Grant from SSHRC (along with Anil Verma, co-applicant). With these funds he will continue investigating how, and under what circumstances unions affect management decisions and firm outcomes, such as innovation, profits and employment growth. In 2009 Dr. Walsworth was named a Hanlon Scholar in International Business. This award provides funding for his ongoing research of the international workplace. His work has been published in a number of top journals including Industrial Relations (Berkeley) and the International Journal of Human Resource Management. Dr. Walsworth teaches courses on Human Resources, International Human Resources, Industrial Relations, and Comparative Industrial Relations.
