EDWARDS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

Dean’s Speaker Series Presenter Demystifies Procrastination

Release Date : October 19, 2011

The third presentation in the Edwards School of Business Dean’s Speaker Series was held earlier this month.  Dr. Piers Steel, Professor of Human Resources and Organizational Dynamics at the Haskayne School of Business, was invited to discuss his recently released book The Procrastination Equation: How to Stop Putting Things Off and Start Getting Stuff Done

The Procrastination Equation tells us why we do what we do – or in this case, don’t – and takes on the myths and misunderstandings behind procrastination and motivation. Steel’s interactive presentation demonstrated how people often react to temptation and gave tips on how to outwit their own brains.

The Dean’s Speaker Series was launched in the 2010/2011 academic year and brings in one speaker per term. The series is aimed toward Edwards faculty and staff, University of Saskatchewan students and members of the Saskatoon business community.
