Dr. Rick Long Receives 2012 Teaching Award

Scholar in International Business, Dr. Rick Long! Dr. Long was presented with the Provost’s
College Award for Outstanding Teaching at the 2012 Celebration of Teaching
event held September 19th.
Each year, one professor from each college is selected to receive the award based on evidence of outstanding teaching and educational leadership. Dr. Long has been teaching and conducting research in human resources management for more than 30 years. He has produced more than 100 publications, is the author of several books, including Strategic Compensation in Canada, the fourth edition of which was named the best-selling business book in Canada by the Globe and Mail. He has served on numerous academic and professional bodies, and his previous teaching awards include the Schulich Award for Teaching Innovation in 2003.
With the Provost’s College Award, presented by the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching Effectiveness, Dr. Long received an award of $2,000 to be used to support a project or scholarship in teaching and learning.
