Edwards Graduate Receives Research Award

Release Date : September 06, 2012

Edwards accounting honors graduate, Lindsay Heiser (nee Carter-Squire), and Edwards accounting professor, Fred Phillips, were recognized with the American Accounting Association’s 2012 Outstanding Research in Accounting Education Award in August for an article published in Issues in Accounting Education.

Their article, entitled “A Field Experiment Examining the Effects of Accounting Equation Emphasis and Transaction Scope on Students Learning to Journalize”, was based on research that Lindsay and Fred completed in the Accounting Honors program. This is the second time an accounting honors project has garnered this prestigious award (in 2007, Eric Hanson and Fred Phillips were honored with the AAA award).
