Introduction & Background:

WomenThe Empowering Women Leaders Program is a new initiative by Executive Education, Edwards School of Business. The program is designed to support your journey to empowerment and promote an inclusive climate that values both feminine and masculine approaches, found within both men and women. Research suggests that “Women indeed Mean Business.” Organizations with women in leadership roles and on boards outperform those not tapping into the diverse strengths typically attributed to women and the feminine leadership strengths such as empathy, insight, and connectivity.

The Empowering Women Leaders 5-Day Program plus coaching provides an opportunity to step away and have a conversation with other women. This program is for women, designed and offered by women, and provides an environment where women can discuss their experiences, leadership challenges and successes.

The program consists of a 3-Day Foundational Workshop on Leading Self, Others & Organization (including a women's leadership panel on Day 1), Day 4 is your choice of one complimentary course (offered through Edwards Executive Education), three 1-hour coaching sessions with either facilitator, and a 1-Day Closing Workshop on Leading your Life: Integration & Implementation, including a guest speaker.

Instructor Profiles:

Instructors

Lillas Hatala, Mc Ed, CHRP, CMC

Lillas Hatala brings over 30 years of experience designing and facilitating leadership development programs in the corporate, government, post secondary and not for profit sectors in North America, and abroad. Lillas is the co-creator, with Linda McCann, of the Women in Leadership for Life (WILL) initiative. In addition to having her Masters Degree in Continuing Education, Lillas is certified in CCL Benchmarks, MBTI, Insights Discovery, EQi assessments; has extensive experience with the LPI 360 tool, and several coaching certifications. Through her own organization, Integrative Leadership International Ltd, Lillas challenges leaders to expand their awareness and bring greater levels of consciousness and significance to their lives, their teams and their organizations.

Linda McCann, MA, CHRP

Linda has worked across Canada as a personal, leadership and organization development consultant for 30 years. She has helped her clients – individuals, teams, organizations – to increase their capacity to lead, live, work and relate to others authentically and effectively. In working with her clients, Linda is valued for her ability to create an environment of trust and respect where deep exploration, discovery and conversation can take place. In addition to holding a graduate degree in psychology, Linda is a qualified Myers-Briggs instructor, is certified for Benchmarks with the Centre for Creative Leadership, and is a Certified Human Resource Professional. In recent years, her passion for learning has led her to expand her knowledge and skills in the areas of compassionate communication, coaching, and adaptive leadership and emotional intelligence.

Program Fees

$3,000 plus GST

  • Program fee includes 5-days of programming plus 3 hours of coaching, assessments, program materials, meals and refreshments, and a framed certificate upon program completion.
  • Applicants must have 5+ years of experience in the workplace.
  • Special Discount to Business and Professional Women (BPW) members.
  • Two scholarships valued at $1,500 each are available.
  • Participants may withdraw from this course at any time, however, a $500 administration fee will be charged for withdrawing from the course up to 21 days prior to course start date. No refunds will be processed after this time. Participants may avoid the $500 admin fee by transferring fees to another course, free of charge, provided there is space available. Non-attendance does not constitute notice of withdrawal.
