Program Overview

The program is delivered through Edwards Executive Education, an eligible, accredited academic program recognized under PMI’s training eligibility requirements.

The Ultimate Project Management Professional (PMP®) Essentials: Fast Track Program takes a comprehensive view of "the total project," from the planning and organizational stages to the actual implementation stage using the PMI standards for Project Management. This program will provide the necessary information to participants enabling them the ability to pass the Project Management Institute’s (PMI®) Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification exam.

This program consists of five full-day sessions (8:30am to 4:30pm). Attendance is mandatory for all days.

    • Understand the PMP® exam structure, application process, eligibility requirements, question formats, timing strategy, and study approach so participants know exactly what to expect before exam day
    • Translate complex project management concepts into practical, memorable ideas using clear explanations, examples, analogies, and PMP®-style practice questions
    • Apply the three PMP® exam domains—People, Process, and Business Environment—to real project scenarios involving leadership, stakeholder engagement, governance, value delivery, risk, change, and compliance
    • Compare predictive, agile/adaptive, iterative, incremental, and hybrid approaches and determine when each methodology is most appropriate for a project’s scope, schedule, risk, uncertainty, and stakeholder needs
    • Build stronger project leadership skills by practicing servant leadership, active listening, conflict resolution, decision-making, team empowerment, communication planning, and stakeholder expectation management
    • Develop project plans that integrate scope, schedule, resources, finance, quality, risk, communications, stakeholder engagement, and governance into a coherent path for delivery
    • Use practical tools and techniques such as stakeholder analysis, work breakdown structures, schedules, estimating methods, risk registers, quality tools, earned value concepts, change control, and lessons learned
    • Evaluate project performance against value, business objectives, compliance expectations, stakeholder satisfaction, and the triple constraints of scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, and risk
    • Recognize exam “trapdoors” and improve test-taking confidence through sample questions, scenario analysis, graphics-based interpretation, matching-style practice, and decision-making logic aligned with PMI® expectations

    This program provides comprehensive preparation for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification exam including

    • This program includes pre-program reading. The reading is required to be completed prior to the program start time.

    • 35 project management training hours to fulfill the PMP® application requirement
    • All learning materials provided digitally through Canvas
    • Certificate of Completion

    • 32.5 CPHR Saskatchewan Continued Professional Development (CPD) hours
    • Edwards Executive Education will pay one PMP® exam retake fee if the participant did not pass on the first exam, provided they meet the following criteria:
      • Attend the full 35 hours of the Ultimate PMP® Essentials: Fast Track Program
      • Obtain a 65% on the first attempt of the third Advanced Sample Exam

Doug Boebinger, MS, PMP, AHPP, PMTA-CTP

Program Director

Doug Boebinger, PMP, is a distinguished speaker, author, and project management consultant with over 40 years of profit and loss experience. He has been a certified Project Management Professional since 1994 and is PMI Agile Hybrid certified. In 1997, he founded Integrated Process Developers, Inc., providing global project management consulting and training services to a wide variety of organizations in public, private and government sectors. Doug has developed numerous training courses and authored two books: "The Building Blocks of Project Management", "The Ultimate PMP® Certification Manual”, and “PMP® Exam Content Outline (ECO) Based Study Guide”. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at various universities across the United States and Canada. He was the Project Management Department Chair at Cleary University, where he wrote their project management degree program. Doug has received the Masters Certificate in Project Management Award for Training Excellence numerous times.

Amanda Dahl, PMP, ACP

Amanda Dahl is the owner and operator of her consultancy, Boost Consulting and supports her clients to become more effective and efficient (boostconsulting.ca).

She has 25 years of experience operational excellence, project management, change management, business planning, corporate development, and facilitation in multiple industries, most notably in mining.

Amanda has her Master’s Certificate in Project Management, Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), Lean Greenbelt, Six Sigma Blackbelt training, and is a PROSCI certified Change Practitioner. She is also a Board Member for the Canadian Association of Management Consultants and past co-chair and current mentor for the Women in Mining Women in Nuclear (WIMWiN) SK Mentorship Program. 

She presents her technical and ‘real-world’ knowledge in an authentic, tangible way to enhance understanding and engagement, and enjoys connecting with people in a meaningful way.
