Program Overview

This one-day program benefits leaders and other individuals who want to enhance their interpersonal communication capabilities. It begins by equipping participants with key competencies to address common workplace issues. It emphasizes the practice of effective dialogue, active listening, practical communication methods, conflict-resolution strategies, and trust-building techniques. These foundational skills pave the way for successfully handling common communication and team member performance challenges.  We will also develop strategies to maneuver particularly difficult communication scenarios and conflicts.

Instructor Profile

Dr. Trevor Maber engages in teaching and scholarship across a wide range of HR-related practice areas. He is an award-winning faculty member with the Edwards School of Business and associate faculty member at both Royal Roads University and Fielding Graduate University. As a facilitator, he leverages over 30 years of professional and academic experience to create positive change and highly-engaging learning opportunities for the students, clients and organizations he works with. In addition to his faculty appointments, he maintains an active consulting practice and speaks at conferences across North America and internationally. Trevor has also been an active contributor and supporter within the TED community for over 15 years as a TED workshop presenter and host, TEDx organizer and speaker, and TED-ED lesson designer and educator. He holds his PhD from Fielding Graduate University with a focus on organizational development and change, along with his MA in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding, MA in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University, and BComm from the University of Saskatchewan, along with numerous coaching, facilitation and assessment certifications.
