Co-op Program

Do you want to grow your professional network and improve your resume while completing your B.Comm. or MBA degree? How about getting paid to apply the theory you’re learning in class in a real work environment before you graduate?

The Co-op Option is an opportunity for third-year business students to participate in an eight-month paid work term and gain practical experience in their field of study.

Whatever your career plan is, a co-op placement will expose you to a unique experiential learning opportunity.

Study Abroad

Earn credit towards your degree while studying abroad for a term at one of our partner universities. Edwards offers funding to support students who study abroad.

The Edwards School of Business has agreements with a number of institutions in Austria, Chile, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and many other locations where you can study a pre-approved set of classes and credit will transfer back to the B.Comm. degree program.

Learning Communities

A Learning Community (LC) is a small group of first-year students that take shared classes together. Learning Communities help to ease the transition to university for new students by providing opportunities for meeting new people, getting to know campus and its resources, and developing skills to succeed as a student in a university environment.

Sign up early – space is limited, and spots fill on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Case Competitions

Edwards students have the opportunity to attend various case competitions to share and challenge their business knowledge. Previously, students have attended various business compeitions like the Rocky Mountain Business Seminar, the John Molson Sports Marketing Conference, JDC West, and the Edwards Case Competition hosted by the Edward's Business Students Society.

You can apply for co-curricular funding to subsidize costs related to case competitions, conferences, and more.

Dembroski Student-Managed Portfolio Trust

The Dembroski SMPT is an experiential learning opportunity for third and fourth year Edwards students pursuing a finance major to work with equity markets in real time with real money. The portfolio's current value is over $4.3 million.

Edwards students have access to enhanced learning opportunities and monitoring experience through state-of-the-art Bloomberg financial terminals located in the Rawlinson Finance and Trading Room.

Rawlinson Centre for Indigenous Business Students

At the Rawlinson Centre, Indigenous students can find a place to study, attend cultural events, and access dedicated student scholarships, tutoring services, and emergency financial assistance. The Centre is one of the only dedicated spaces for Indigenous business students in the country.

Major Maps

Major Maps help you learn how to get the most out of your degree and prepare for your future career.

The first two years provide you with general business knowledge; all students take an introductory course in each of the major specializations before selecting a major in the middle of year two.
