In November 2025, students, faculty, staff, donors and alumni gathered to celebrate student success at the annual awards luncheon. The event recognized undergraduate students for their academic, leadership and volunteer achievements.

This year marked a new record, with more than $1.9 million in scholarships directly through the Edwards School of Business and the University of Saskatchewan. The total represents significant growth from last year's $1.64 million. In all, 670 students were recognized across 136 awards, with many receiving multiple scholarships.

These scholarships were made possible through the generosity of alumni, the Edwards Dean’s Circle, local businesses, community organizations, friends of the school, and faculty and staff.

Guests heard remarks from Elder Roland Duquette, Dean Dr. Keith Willoughby, donor representative Cory Bailey of WBM Technologies, and student speaker Riley Thibodeau.

Bailey who has been with WBM Technologies for 16 years, currently serves as the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Manager. In this role, he focuses on building and nurturing community partnerships across Western Canada. WBM’s goal is to foster long-term relationships and deliver impactful programs for community partners, clients, staff, and families. Bailey spoke to the audience about the value that an Edwards degree brings to graduates and the positive impact it has on the business community.

Following Bailey’s remarks, Riley Thibodeau, a multiple award recipient and final-year Edwards student enrolled in the Edwards finance honours program, delivered an impactful speech on behalf of the student body.

"Scholarships and bursaries come in many forms. Some recognize academic achievement, others support leadership, or community involvement, some relieve financial stress so that students can focus on their studies, and some, like the one I received, make it possible to say yes to experiences that would otherwise remain out of reach," said Thibodeau.

Following Thibodeau’s heartfelt message, Dean Dr. Keith Willoughby echoed the importance of donor support and congratulated the recipients on their achievements.

"Thank you to our donors for providing these generous awards to Edwards School of Business students," said Dean Dr. Keith Willoughby (PhD). "Congratulations to all the scholarship and award recipients recognized this year who are truly becoming the socially conscious business professionals the world needs."
