New first-year students who are admitted in Fall term AND are interested in joining a Learning Community (LC) are required to sign-up for a Learning Community in the Fall term. We are offering three major-specific learning communities for any incoming Edwards School of Business students. We are also offering a learning community specficially for incoming Indigenous students. Students registering for the Indigenous-specific Learning Community in Fall term have the option to extend their LC for the full year.

Planning to take more than 3 classes in each term?

In addition to these learning community schedules you also have the opportunity to register in additional classes if you are planning to take a full 5 courses in each term.

Suggested courses in first year are COMM 100, COMM 104, COMM 105, COMM 111, COMM 121, COMM 129, ECON 111, ECON 114 and two any level non-COMM electives.  Class offerings for additional courses can be found in the Class Search.

Steps for LC Sign Up:

1) Select the major-specific learning community for Fall term that matches your academic and/or career interests. If you are unsure, select a learning community for a major that you'd like to learn more about. Please note there are limited seats; first come, first served.

2) Sign up starting May 4 at Noon (CST) using the link below. 

3) IMPORTANT: Students registering for the Indigenous Learning Community in Fall term have the option to extend their LC for the full year. Extending the Learning Community requires registration in BOTH LC-SB03A and LC-SB13A.

4) Check your PAWS email for a Learning Community confirmation notification.

5) Check your PAWS email late in May for more details on LC registration from your Learning Community team.

6) Register in your LC block of classes on June 4th and any additional classes you plan to take.
